Here is our Public Presentation for International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Our Executive Director, Renée Vaugeois, was the keynote speaker at the third annual CommUnity: The Power of One, an event held on March 24, 2018, to commemorate the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. 

Stride Advocates will apply their skills and knowledge in advocating for human rights and supporting community members and grassroots agencies in addressing issues of racism, discrimination and/or barriers to access.

• In return for the training, Stride Advocates commit to volunteering 20 hours over the following six months.  Upon the completion of the hours, Advocates receive certification for that training topic.

Join a provincial network of human rights defenders in Lethbridge!

As a Stride Advocate you will learn skills in advocating for human rights, supporting community members and grassroots agencies in addressing issues of racism, discrimination and/or barriers to access.  

Be part of the Justice4Reel Youth Creative Lab that will take place December 6-8, 2018 in Edmonton, Alberta. Over the course of the Creative Lab, participants will learn about the ethics of storytelling, be exposed to various film making approaches and collaborate with peers and professionals while have the chance to pull apart, refine and expand upon their project idea

Close to 30 people attended the session at Temple Beth Ora (TBO), in Edmonton.  Rabbi Gila Caine spoke about Reform Judaism as opposed to orthodox or conservative denominations and the members present shared the unique history of TBO since its formation in the late 70’s.

Hearing from Shiloh Centre for Multicultural Roots about the history of black settlement and migration in the Prairies.  

The River is a tribute to many of the animals - four legged, winged or scaled - that are native to Edmonton’s beloved river valley, specifically near the University of Alberta.
