Volunteer Appreciation 2025
Volunteers are the heartbeat of non-profit communities around the world. The time, passion, and care they bring uphold the values we strive to live every day and make community-led change possible. As we reflect on 2025, we want to celebrate and extend our thanks to YOU — the volunteers who strengthen and sustain the work of the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights (JHC).
JHC made the choice to conclude the individual advocacy element of the Stride Advocacy Program in mid-2025. We want to extend a special thanks and recognize the volunteers who carried this work for several years. Your compassion and commitment supported people through incredibly challenging moments and made it possible to extend this program as long as we could. We are deeply grateful to those who contributed throughout and those still helping us close remaining files with care.
This year, volunteers contributed to so many meaningful initiatives, including:
Edmonton as a Human Rights City: A Legacy of Activism Project
Community research initiatives
Collaborative art projects
Event support & outreach
Our regular Board activities
and many more!
Your generosity, leadership, heart, and support make our work possible. We send our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all volunteers who supported JHC in 2025 - thank you for standing with us and helping build a more just, resilient, caring community. We look forward to working alongside you as we move forward together into 2026.
