Urban Agriculture & Municipal Bylaw Learning Session in Edmonton
This summer, the Food Security & Food Justice Ecosystem of Edmonton (FSFJE) will host a learning session with speakers from the City of Edmonton. This event, to be held both in-person and online, will help participants better understand the current bylaws and policies that may impact urban agriculture, as well as share more about the community gardens program and guidelines.
Topics to be addressed:
Barriers to land access posed by red tape, short-term leases, and development pressures on securing grow spaces and food production infrastructure.
Understanding how existing bylaws may enable or restrict community-driven urban agriculture projects and what efforts could support these initiatives.
Exploring Edmonton’s park spaces and other municipal investments to foster urban agriculture and build community resiliency.
All are welcome to attend. Registration is required.
