From Collective Vision to Community Resource: Discover Edmonton’s Food Resource Map!

The Edmonton Food Resource Map is a free, community-created tool developed through the two-year Food Security and Food Justice Edmonton (FSFJE) project. Created in collaboration with community members, organizations, and food leaders across Edmonton, the hopes were for this resource map to serve as a lasting outcome of a collective effort to build a more just, connected, and resilient local food system.

The map brings together food-related resources from across Edmonton in one accessible place. Whether you're looking for free and low-cost food supports, community gardens and growing spaces, food skills programs, grocery and market options, or local food initiatives, the Edmonton Food Resource Map makes it easier to find and share what's available locally in neighbourhoods across the city.

More than a directory of resources, the map reflects a shared vision that food is a human right. Through the FSFJE project, community members called for a shift from charity-based responses toward rights-based approaches that uphold dignity, accessibility, honor cultural and traditional food needs, and promote meaningful participation in local food systems.

As the FSFJE project comes to a close, we hope this resource will see continued growth and sustainability through community stewardship, and serve as a tool for connection, collaboration, and food access in Edmonton.

The Food Security and Food Justice Ecosystem of Edmonton (FSFJE) project would not have been possible without the support of funding from the City of Edmonton’s Community Safety and Wellbeing Grant (CSWB). We also extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed their time and expertise towards the development of the Edmonton Food Resource Map.
