YEG Dignity Presents: Do The Rights Thing

Do the Rights Thing is a quarterly film screening exploring human rights issues, locally and across Canada. It represents an opportunity to bring greater awareness to issues of injustice in our community by making space for those with lived experience to tell their own stories.

Screenings:

"Life Inside Out" by Sarah Zammit

This documentary takes us inside the walls of Grand Valley Institution. It explores the experiences of women behind bars and advances the notion that those who have committed crimes deserve to be treated with dignity.

 

"Poor Poor Penniless Me" by the Self Advocacy Federation & Amy Park

This short film gives us a look into the poverty struggles that people with disabilities face while on AISH; a government program that provides for the basic needs of people who are not able to work.
