  • Blood Tribe Multipurpose Building Box 208. Standoff, AB. T0L 1Y0 (map)

In partnership with the CEASE: Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation, this workshop will give participants insight into signs and warnings that can help community identify issues and respond effectively to sexual exploitation and human trafficking. We will explore current trends and learn about the services and supports available to victims.

Keynote Speaker:

Juanita Murphy

Juanita fought through inter-generational trauma, addictions, sexual abuse, and sexual exploitation to transform her life of powerlessness into one of action. As a public educator at CEASE (Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation), Juanita works hard to encourage the public to keep the conversation about sexual exploitation and human trafficking at the forefront. She believes education is power – power to fight this crime of inhumanity against people. “Human trafficking touches all of our lives, whether you know it or not. We all pay, whether through costs to health care, criminal justice system, and social services. We need to open our eyes and minds to education and action.” Juanita
