Urban Agriculture & Municipal Bylaw Learning Session

  • Agri-Food Discovery Place 6020 118 Street Northwest Edmonton, AB, T6J Canada (map)

The Food Security & Food Justice Ecosystem of Edmonton (FSFJE) invites you to join us for this learning session, where speakers from the City of Edmonton will help us better understand the current bylaws and policies that may impact urban agriculture, as well as share more about the community gardens program and guidelines.

Some topics we will explore:

  • Barriers to land access posed by red tape, short-term leases, and development pressures on securing grow spaces and food production infrastructure.

  • Understanding how existing bylaws may enable or restrict community-driven urban agriculture projects and what efforts could support these initiatives.

  • Exploring Edmonton’s park spaces and other municipal investments to foster urban agriculture and build community resiliency.
