A series of 4 workshops and an additional ad hoc session designed to assist, identify, and overcome many of the complex barriers when filing a Human Rights Claim. The workshops will promote equitable access to those most disproportionately represented; through inclusive representation, empowerment to participate, trauma informed practices, and cultural awareness. The half day interactive sessions are intended to promote a tangible, actionable and safe process for identifying and filing human rights related complaints.
Workshop 1: Grounding In And On The Charter (June 4)
This session introduces key sections of the Charter, protected environments, and its relevance to marginalized communities. It explores how social determinants of health impact access to human rights. Delivered through mixed media and group facilitation, participants will gain awareness and practical skills to apply the Charter in advocacy work.
