The RAD Network Education for Social Justice Gathering

Join us for our first RAD Network Gathering held at Moonlight Bay Retreat Centre near Wabamun, Alberta from July 3-5.

The intention of this gathering is to provide an opportunity to establish a community of educators, and offer a safe and supportive space to be honest and critical about issues facing our education system while we build our capacity for social justice education. We will work through some of the barriers to teaching social justice and to decolonize our thinking, school culture, and curriculum. The idea is to shift the ways of teaching, learning, and knowing within our traditional education structures.

You will walk away from this gathering with a provincial network of educators and social justice education tools, but most importantly, you will contribute to the development of an action plan to strengthen social justice education in Alberta.

We will meet for dinner and introductions on Tuesday evening and jump into the workshopping, collaborating, and building relations for the next two days. Meals and accommodation will be provided.

We hope you are able to join us! Please contact Chelsea Burke, chelsea@jhcentre.org or 780 453 2638, for inquiries and RSVP.

Play a central role in shifting the world, be a RAD Educator!
