Human Rights Education

The John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights has a collection of human rights based videos on a variety of issues that can be accessed here. The videos included in this area of the site are all accompanied by dialogue plans that can be used by educators and facilitators to begin and/or guide a discussion on each issue.

Teachers will find the lesson plans that correspond to the videos in this section are an excellent way to both introduce and delve deeper into a variety of pertinent human rights issues. Many of the videos and lessons are based on local, relevant issues that students can and should consider. Where appropriate, lessons are provided for elementary, junior high and high school levels.

This section of the website is ever-expanding. Be sure to check back periodically for the addition of videos, lessons and dialogue plans!
